Burrs are the unwanted portions of metal which remain at the edges of components after machining. Deburring is therefore required to smoothen the surface and is commonly done by filing or by using deburring machine tools. Filing off burr is time consuming and it also does not give smooth edges; whereas burr removal using deburring machine tools is not always possible or economical.
